Barry Sherry

Chief Executive Officer

Key Expertise:

Barry leads ACEL Energy with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. Over the past decade, he has specialised in renewable energy, successfully delivering more than 50MW of solar PV projects across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and Australia. A Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland, Barry also holds an MBA in Project Management from Dublin Business School and a Postgraduate Diploma in Façade Engineering from the University of the West of England. His leadership combines technical expertise with a clear focus on sustainable growth and client value.

Declan McDonald

Operations Director

Key Expertise:

Declan brings over two decades of hands-on experience in renewable energy system design and installation. His career includes delivery of rooftop and ground-mount solar PV, advanced battery storage, heat pumps, and hydroelectric systems across Ireland and the UK. As ACEL Energy’s Operations Director, he oversees the practical execution of projects, ensuring technical excellence and strong client partnerships. Declan holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Ulster University, Jordanstown, and is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions that support long-term business resilience.

Ruaidhrí McGoldrick

Design Manager

Key Expertise:

Ruaidhrí has over 10 years’ experience in the design and technical delivery of renewable energy systems. At ACEL Energy, he leads on design across projects ranging from rooftop and ground-mounted solar to battery storage, hydroelectric power, and heat pump integration. His technical expertise and meticulous approach ensure every project is delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Francis Connolly

Renewable Energy Project Manager

Key Expertise:

Francis manages the installation and commissioning of ACEL’s commercial and ground-mount solar projects. With a background in complex project delivery within regulated industries and a Masters in Energy Infrastructure with a renewable focus, Francis ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with ISO standards (9001/14001/45001).

Francisco Pacheco

Technical Manager

Key Expertise:

Francisco oversees the technical performance of ACEL Energy’s renewable energy projects, from system design through to final commissioning. With a background in electrical engineering and extensive experience across solar PV and battery storage, he ensures that every project meets technical, safety, and performance benchmarks. His knowledge of emerging technologies also helps guide innovation across ACEL’s service offering.

Corey McAree

Site Manager

Key Expertise:

Corey is responsible for on-site coordination and delivery of ACEL Energy projects. With a strong background in construction and renewable installations, he ensures site works run safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed timelines. Corey works closely with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to maintain clear communication and smooth execution from groundworks to commissioning.

Niamh Reilly

Financial Controller

Niamh manages the financial operations of ACEL Energy, ensuring the business remains stable and strategically positioned for growth. With extensive experience across multiple industries, she brings expertise in financial planning, risk assessment, and cost management. Niamh’s analytical approach supports long-term sustainability and efficient business practices.

Siobhán McCluskey

Marketing Executive

Key Expertise:

Siobhán combines corporate experience with creative expertise in her role at ACEL Energy. With a background in account management, design, and media strategy, she drives marketing campaigns and brand development while also supporting daily business operations. Siobhán plays a central role in team coordination and in strengthening ACEL’s profile in the renewable energy sector.

Sean Conlon

Renewable Energy Engineering Intern

Key Expertise:

Sean is completing a one-year placement with ACEL Energy while studying Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of Ulster, Derry. He supports the engineering team with design, data analysis, and site preparation. Sean’s enthusiasm and commitment to developing hands-on skills make him a valuable contributor to ongoing projects.
